Michael Petrilli

As Vice President, Michael A. Petrilli oversees and assists in all aspects of the 1100 Groups regional restaurant operations. With more than a decade of experience working with a number of successful Bay Area restaurants, he has built a career in hospitality that has evolved out of a passion for service, quality, customer experience, and leadership.

Michael’s involvement with 1100 Group Restaurant began in October, 2015, when he was recruited as the General Manager for Little Star Pizza in Albany, where he assisted in the transition to a larger, full service location. Michael now supports and engages in all aspects of the 1100 Group Restaurant as the Vice President.

Michael was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and attended University of California Santa Cruz, where he received a degree in both Environmental Studies and Sociology. He began working in the restaurant industry in Santa Cruz as an undergraduate, and upon graduation worked full time at Soif Wine Bar and Merchants where he accrued a depth of knowledge for unusual and boutique wines. Michael then moved to the Bay Area in 2006 and further developed his bartending trade through working at Cesar Bar, next door to Chez Panisse, where he spent three years as a lead-bartender and developed Cesar’s wine and beverage program.

At the age of 25, Michael was hired as an opening manager for Zut! On Fourth, a New American restaurant located in Berkeley’s Fourth Street shopping district. Within a month of Zut!’s opening, Michael was promoted to General Manager and Beverage Director. For five years, he then proceeded to cultivate a culture of hospitality (and profitability), in a setting that offered excellent, locally sourced California cuisine.

Throughout his career, Michael has focused on casual fine dining Californian restaurants, where he developed a vast knowledge and skill set for food and beverage, wine, and service. With his history of commitment to his staff, deep understanding what it takes to operate successful restaurants, and demonstrated ability to work with others in a leadership role, Michael is an invaluable new addition to the 1100 Group.

Beyond the restaurant industry, Michael is a dedicated father and husband and lives in Albany, California. He enjoys sports and outdoor recreation, and enjoys cooking for his family and friends.
